Furthermore, virtual controllers can be tested and validated in the context of a system or machine. For connecting to plant / machine simulations, an extensive API is available.

- As with the hardware CPU, firmware version V2.9 supports up to 128 UDP multicast connections, DNS, and DHCP.
- The installation program substitutes the NpCap driver for the WinPCap driver.
- Compatibility with TIA Portal projects from V14 to V17
